Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre

The aim of the Ringsend & Irishtown Community Centre, established in 1989, is to develop and provide a quality resource Centre to serve the needs of the Community. We have an integrated approach with provision from “cradle to grave” and approximately 100,000 usages per year. The centre opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am-10pm.

The purpose of the Centre is to:

  • Support the development of key local services catering for local people affected by poverty and disadvantage.
  • Provide services and supports to groups and members of the Community
  • Identify community needs and gaps in services
  • Contribute to meeting needs through community development in a non-judgmental way.
  • Develop partnerships with appropriate organisations

Minding Your Own Self with presenter Helen Walsh, a new mental health & social benefit podcast on RICC Radio.

Helen has over 30 years experience in the field. She will present the podcast every two weeks. She is hoping you will join her on her journey. Minding Your Own Self is a thought-provoking podcast dedicated to exploring real stories and individuals within the realms of mental health and social benefit. Through conversations and personal narratives with a variety of guests from different backgrounds, we delve into the complexities of these everyday issues, offering listeners some empathy and life tips that may help them deal with the ups and downs of life. On Minding Your Own Self episode 17 Helen talks with Liz Watson. A lovely opportunity to pay tribute to the late Betty Watson and chat to Liz about her mums influence in the community around changing the stigma of coming from a working class area, and changing educational opportunities.
